Is cord blood therapy the answer to treating Cerebral Palsy?

Baby Dallas was diagnosed with CP shortly after birth when he cried continuously, couldn't control his tongue function while eating, and wasn't progressing as fast as other children.  His parents had preserved blood from his umbilical cord and decided to put Dallas through a clinical trial at Duke University.  By transfusing Dallas' own cells back into his body, they hoped his brain would be repaired and his motor skills improved.

Five days after the procedure, Dallas seemed to be improving.  He was laughing, waving, and appearing more curious.  Doctors say there is no way to prove that his cord blood made this progress possible but his parents believe in it.

NBC's Meredith Veira interviews the parents following the report.  Along with Dallas' progress, they discuss the decision to keep the cord blood, which can be expensive and isn't covered by insurance.
