Children with Cerebral Palsy often benefit from an Intensive Therapy Program.
Programs run 3 hours a day, 5 days a week, for 2-4 weeks and are designed to stretch and strengthen muscles, as well as, to increase balance and endurance.

Noreen's clinic is one of around 90 clinics in the US certified to use the TheraSuit Method. This therapy centers around a specialized suit that uses cords to align the body as close to normal as possible. The TheraSuit reestablishes the correct postural alignment and plays a crucial role in normalizing muscle tone, sensory and vestibular function.
Noreen says, " During the intensive therapy program- the children are here for 3 hours so it really gives us an opportunity to focus on all of their deficits. From providing hot packs to warm up muscles to prior to do doing strengthening and stretching. We put them through stretching activities and then also strengthening to really focus on where weaknesses are. We then progress to using the TheraSuit during intensive therapy program and we’re able to use Therasuit while they are walking on treadmill or doing balance activities or standing. Then, the children are progressed to doing activities in the cage, using the resistance of the bungees and the assistance of the bungees to do jumping, balancing, inversion activities, exercises. We also use various other activities during this program just to gain skills that these children are working on."
In this CP Discovery report, Noreen introduces us to Karsyn and Seth. Both children are 5 years old and participating in a two week Intensive Therapy Program. This is a first-hand look inside one of those therapy sessions.
Intensive Therapy Programs cost from $4500.00-$6000.00 depending on the clinic. Noreen says some insurance companies will reimburse but it depends on the child's individual policy.
The TheraSuit is available to use at home but parents must be trained in it's proper use.
The TheraSuit retails for appx. $2500.00.
