A therapeutic method known as Doman's Overhead Brachiation Ladder is highlighted by the Institutes for the Achievement of Human Potential .
Using this ladder, the child learns to support the weight of the body using hands and arms. This overhead ladder is used for various exercises and is associated with the development of upper body strength, as well as, balance and motor coordination.
In these two videos, Hulet Smith (Occupational Therapist) can be heard in the background coaching his daughter, Sophia, who has Cerebral Palsy, through a walking therapy. The first video is when she was younger...the second is at 6 years old.
Hulet Smith and his wife, Megan, attended sessions at the Institutes for the Achievement of Human Potential which instructs on the proper way to perform this type of therapy.
